Analytics become increasingly important as your company begins to grow.
It is the easiest way to gather data around your target demographic — even giving you the ability to see your demographics may not be what they once were. The most well-known analytics reports come from Google and show a large array of data which may seem overwhelming on your first run through. Ages, browsers, locations, all this information about your website’s visitors can be gathered and stored.
A basic WordPress analytics widget will be available free of charge on your website with Empire Insight. It looks like this:
From this panel you can see that the views for the day came directly from Facebook and that the Homepage is the most popular, with strategy room coming in second place. Interesting, but this is not enough data for many companies.
Our advanced analytics package comes with its own Google Analytics dashboard, which you can compare easily with the free version. This panel allows you to view many more details at a glance including bounce rate, sessions vs users vs page views, and a range of dates and other data driven specifics.
Google Analytics allows you to watch traffic in Real-Time.
You can also view visits by location, which is extremely useful for nailing that target demographic. Note that here we can view by country, but in the full Google Analytics experience (another blog post) we can go even deeper.
Having the ability to see what your visitors are running for browsers and operating systems is also very important as it can allow you to ‘assume’ many more details and prepare for future product launches.
